Amy4/30/2020We're not alone when we say that the last several weeks have felt unreal – like a movie in many respects. We are living in remarkable times with an abundance of deep global concerns, and how we all cope with that varies.
Amy4/13/2020We’re singing the praises of our favorite bright and lively, is there anything she can’t do, Curcuma longa today! Mother Nature sure used everything in her power to get us to pay attention to this extraordinary plant. Bright orange, ginger-like...
Amy3/30/2020These are challenging times for us all; energetically taxing times that require a concerted effort to stay whole and light and present. Our thoughts right now are with you and your loved ones and our entire global community. Like many, we have...
Amy2/28/2020Our society puts a great deal of energy into suppressing, blocking, synthesizing, and misrepresenting female hormones. It’s astonishing that most women never even reach full hormonal maturity before medications begin disrupting their...
Amy2/3/2020Color. It’s a vital and beautiful thing. The body responds to color in blissful ways and as health practitioners we love reminding our clients to expand their thinking and grab an array of different greens, fruits, seeds and whole foods...
Amy1/11/2020We love herbs because we are passionate about being stronger today for a better tomorrow®. When our cells are strong they can withstand stressors from almost every source. Strong cells thrive because they are nourished in multiple
Amy11/26/2019The rains have finally arrived in California, along with a collective sigh that this year's fire season has possibly come to an end. There is something incredibly energizing about the first rain after a long period of...
Amy9/27/2019How can we best support the complex processes that occur at nanosecond speeds deep within our minds and preserve our cognitive function? Protecting the mind from the adverse effects of oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction...
Amy6/21/2019For thousands of years celebrations of summer solstice have been held in cultures around the world. Solstice comes from the Latin words sol- sun and sistere - to stand still. At summer solstice the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, appearing to ‘stand still’ for a few days...
Amy4/22/2019April is one of our favorite months when it's hard to contain the giddiness that abounds. New buds, bulbs rising, trees blooming, birds chirping, and busy pollinators abuzz with a flurry of activity. Nature runs on a different clock and everything we need to know about health and wellness and blooming can be found by studying the seasonal, root to rise flow of her steady measure.
Amy3/5/2019It wasn't until our late 30s that we discovered the power and joy of women's sharing circles. How different our teens and twenties and even early motherhood would have been with this grounding and nurturing practice! Respectfully sitting in this time-honored tradition of coming together is empowering.
Amy2/19/2019After losing a friend and mentor who died of a massive heart attack at the age of 40, I became very focused on speaking to women about the real heart risks that exist for us all. Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death for women over age 25 in the United States, regardless of race or ethnicity. We don't share this statistic to incite fear but simply to educate and hopefully to inspire some quiet reflection about the care of your phenomenal heart.
Amy12/18/2018Here’s to collaborative commerce and women working together to inspire and benefit one another - here’s to The F Project! “In 2017 only 2.2% of all venture capital in the U.S. went to companies founded solely by women. Does that shock you? It should.” Started by two fierce and fabulous founders who were tired of going at it alone and dismayed by the lack of professional support for women brand holders,
Amy11/15/2018Gratitude. It’s everything; so simple and yet powerfully transformative. Giving thanks for all of the many wonders in our lives on a daily basis is pure energetic bliss for our cellular health. Here is our loving reminder as we embark on what is for some a very hectic several weeks of trying to balance it all: swell with gratitude for all that you have and all that you are, and genuinely take care of YOU.
Amy9/16/2018Reignite, find, nurture, and protect the giddy part of your being and never underestimate how critical it is for energized living. The journey to good health can be fraught with frustration. When you’re tired, stressed, and juggling multiple responsibilities - finding the time and energy to completely change the way that you eat, live, think, exercise, behave, etc. can be daunting which is why resolutions and radical changes are so hard for most people to stick with. But what if there’s something that most of us are forgetting about?
Amy8/30/2018It's difficult for most people to think about winter wellness in the fall, but that's exactly what we should all be doing. Understanding how the body and immunity work is key towards implementing a proactive support plan that keeps you charged and strong as cold and flu season commences. Getting in sync with the rhythm of nature is a fabulous way to prepare for the months ahead and it does wonders for keeping the body balanced while building up its reserve – which is important.
Amy6/4/2018To assume that we learn about mental health and/or how to manage it in school or in families, is a mistake. Most of us don’t know about mental health issues it until we, or someone we love, are battling with it.
Amy5/14/2018We’ve learned, through trial and error, that the body really loves proactive support and we’ve chosen to forego the quite harsh treatment and expectations of the body that the typical, reactive health model offers. Why? Because for us, it’s all about eliminating what you can control and countering the effects of what you can’t.
"Treatment originates outside of you; healing comes from within"
This quote is a wonderful reminder about the personal work that true healing requires.
Amy3/12/2018I’ve always loved learning about the body and sharing what I’ve learned with others. Learning comes in many different forms. Of course there are the rigors and rewards of committing to advanced learning, and focusing one’s energy on a targeted area in order to gain deep knowledge and career opportunities. Then there is experiential learning that comes from being very attuned to your own body and how to offer the best support possible – in good times and bad – to your physical and energetic self.
Amy 1/8/2018Take this minute to picture you, as you are right now, and then acknowledge your own fierceness. Now let a massive smile spread across your entire face. We spend a lot of our lives wanting something more – more love, more acceptance, and more acknowledgement from others; acknowledgment of our worth – when in reality we are the only ones who can give that.
It’s staggering when you think about the over 30 trillion cells all working to maintain balance, harmony, and energized living inside the walls of your being. That’s one massive stadium of fans all cheering for you! It’s exhilarating if you allow yourself to really think about just how fantastically awesome that is. Each cell in the body is 'digesting’ the world around you and what you say, think, feel, eat, do, even who you surround yourself with – impacts your cellular health.
Amy11/20/2017Schisandra Berry. One of the many reasons that we show up for her vital way each day. We are on a mission to get more people, especially women, understanding and benefitting from the proactive support from botanicals and supplements. Heart disease has long been the No.1 cause of death in the U.S. but now in 22 states cancer has surpassed it.
